About John: Dr. Cordle is a 1984 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy Navy surface ship command tours including a wartime deployment in command of USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) and a counter-piracy deployment in command of USS San Jacinto (CG 56). He was the 2010 recipient of the U.S. Navy League’s Captain John Paul Jones Award for Inspirational Leadership, the 2020 BUMED Epictetus Award for Innovative Leadership.

About Matt: Matt Armstrong earned a Ph.D. in Defence Studies from King’s College London. A former Governor of the Broadcasting Board of Governors and Executive Director of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy, he has spent twenty years at the intersection of public diplomacy, strategic communication, and political warfare. He was inducted in 2016 into the Psychological Operations Regiment as an Honorary Member. The Russian Federation sanctioned Matt in 2022.
